About the Fruit +
An exceptionally rare Yamanashi original, SunShine Red is a cross of the large red grape Sunny Dolce and Shine Muscat, grown only in Yamanashi Prefecture. Officially registered in 2023 after 15 years of development, it is known as the "Red Jewel" for its striking translucent red skin.
The edible skin gives way to a honeyed, high-sugar flesh (up to 19 Brix) balanced by refreshing acidity, with a floral fragrance reminiscent of rose and orchid. Produced only in small quantities, this is one of Japan's newest luxury grape varieties.
