SHISO FLAKES - シソフレーク 45g

These shiso flakes are a furikake-style rice seasoning made from red shiso (perilla) leaves that have been salted and pickled together with umeboshi (Japanese pickled plum), then dried and crushed. The result is a tangy, salty-sour, deep pink seasoning.

Sprinkle it over steamed rice or mix it into onigiri (rice balls); it also works well scattered over salads, pasta or roasted vegetables for a savoury, tart lift.
