Domaine de la Romanee Conti Echezeaux 2001
Details +
DRC's Echezeaux is traditionally the fastest maturing of the Domaine's Grand Cru reds, and the 2001 is a muscular, precisely defined example now fully open.
The bouquet shows lovely red and dark berry notes with a hint of sous-bois and some Asian spice. On the palate it is juicy and quite vibrant with organic red fruit, perfectly balanced and with a quite muscular finish for a DRC Echezeaux. Pure, highly perfumed aromas of cassis, liquorice, minerals and flowers show wonderful precision and taut structure in the mouth, with lovely sweetness and terrific verve.
