An exceptional single-varietal Malbec from two of Catena Zapata's historic high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza. The 2011 vintage combines mature dark fruit, floral character and refined tannins, with the depth and structure expected from one of Argentina's most celebrated wines.
Produced from Malbec grown in Catena Zapata's historic Adrianna and Nicasia vineyards in the Uco Valley, the 2011 Malbec Argentino is a powerful yet beautifully composed expression of high-altitude Mendoza. The wine opens with cassis, blackberry and dark cherry, followed by floral notes, mocha, spice and a mineral edge. Its concentrated fruit is balanced by silky, persistent tannins and a long, savoury finish. Now mature and ready to enjoy, this is an excellent choice for a special dinner, gifting or adding to a carefully selected cellar.
