The wine offers a regal bouquet of crushed dark berry fruits, gun smoke, pencil lead, violet, sea breeze, burnt caramel, cigar box and new leather, with an integrated, smooth palate. The tannic structure remains substantial, with medium-plus acidity and an inky, purple-hued core of creme de cassis, crushed rocks and flowers - full-bodied, with real ageing potential still ahead.
