Chateau Lafleur, the tiny Pomerol estate that sits almost across the lane from Petrus, produced a terrific, noteworthy success in 2006.
Robert Parker called it a terrific example of Lafleur, describing a deep ruby/purple colour and a sumptuous bouquet of black cherries, kirsch liqueur, liquorice and minerals, with sweet tannin and a medium to full-bodied style. More open on the palate than some other vintages, with obvious spice and earthy undertones, this powerful Lafleur is a blend of 61% Merlot and 39% Cabernet Franc.
