Domaine de la Romanee Conti Echezeaux 2006
Details +
The most approachable of DRC's Grand Cru reds, the Domaine's own tasting notes describe Echezeaux as the fastest maturing and least complex of its wines, opening earliest with a seductive tenderness over a firm structure.
Quite reserved yet very classy, the wine shows a wonderfully airy and layered nose that is distinctly floral, with spice notes including anise, clove and soy. There is terrific intensity to the pure and sleekly muscled flavours, which possess real drive and a seductive tenderness overlaying a firm underlying structure that allows the wine to evolve with elegance.
