Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino 2022
Tasting Notes +
The younger sibling to the celebrated 2011, this 2022 Malbec Argentino is a vivid, perfumed expression of Mendoza's finest high-altitude sites, blending two contrasting vineyards for density, lift and fine-grained structure.
The 2022 combines destemmed, whole-cluster-fermented fruit from the Angelica Vineyard in Lunlunta, Maipu (named for Nicolas Catena Zapata's mother) and the Nicasia Vineyard in La Consulta, Altamira (named for his grandmother), grown at up to 1,095m elevation. The nose is elegant and perfumed with violets, spice and fresh blackberries and blueberries; the palate is super juicy, with compact, fine tannins and an extremely long, mineral-tinged finish.
